EV charging stations (wallboxes) have become a significant load in homes and businesses, and safe charging depends on the approved power of your supply point and a properly sized, dedicated circuit. A typical home charger draws 7.4 kW on single-phase or 11–22 kW on three-phase — figures that, added to your existing consumption, frequently exceed the approved power of an ordinary single-phase connection. For this reason, connecting an EV station usually means either a power increase or a switch to a three-phase connection, plus a dedicated circuit with a suitable breaker and residual-current protection for EV charging.
SUN WATT SRL is an ANRE-certified company for design and execution and handles everything turnkey: we assess the available power, determine whether a power increase or a three-phase connection is needed, submit the file to the operator Retele Electrice Romania (Distributie Energie Electrica Romania), install the dedicated charger circuit and prepare the DIU. We cover Bucharest, Ilfov and Giurgiu and work on both home wallboxes and stations at company premises or car parks.
When you need it
You need an EV charger connection when you buy an electric or plug-in hybrid car and want to charge it at home, at your business or in a car park, safely and without tripping the protections. Typical cases: you install a 7.4 kW or 11–22 kW wallbox and your current power is no longer enough; you want a dedicated circuit, separate from the rest of the house; you need three-phase for fast charging; or you are setting up several charging points at a company. If you are unsure what power you need, we assess your installation and existing consumption free of charge.
How it works — step by step
- Assessing the Power and the Charger. We check your current approved power, your existing connection (single-phase or three-phase) and the power of the charger you want to install. We then determine whether a new dedicated circuit is enough or whether a power increase or a three-phase connection is required.
- Operator File (Power Increase or New Connection). If your current power does not cover the charger, we prepare and submit to Retele Electrice Romania the power-increase or three-phase connection request, to obtain a new approved power through the ATR (Technical Connection Approval).
- Connection and EV Circuit Works. As an ANRE-certified company, we carry out the connection change (where needed) and the dedicated charger circuit: correctly sized cable, dedicated breaker and the residual-current protection required for EV charging, in line with the regulations.
- Charger Installation and Commissioning. We connect the wallbox to the dedicated circuit, check the protections and commission the station. We prepare the DIU (Utilisation Installation Dossier) where the connection change requires it.
Required documents
- Requestor's ID
- Property deed / land registry extract
- Technical data sheet of the charging station (wallbox)
- Details of the existing connection (approved power, single/three-phase)
- Power-increase or connection request (prepared by us, if required)
Why bransam.ro
- ANRE-certified for design and execution, for a legal and safe EV station connection
- We correctly assess whether a power increase or a three-phase connection is needed, with no unnecessary oversizing
- Dedicated circuit with the right residual-current protection for EV charging
- We manage the relationship with Retele Electrice Romania, from the request to the new approved power
- Solutions for both home wallboxes and stations at businesses or car parks
- Coverage across Bucharest, Ilfov and Giurgiu, with transparent quotes
How long it takes
If your existing installation has enough power, the dedicated charger circuit can be completed in 1–2 days. If a power increase or a three-phase connection is needed, the process with the operator Retele Electrice Romania applies, and the overall timeline is approximately 4–12 weeks, depending on the ATR and the works.
