Electrical connections
Single-phase connection
A single-phase electrical connection (230V) is the standard supply for homes with typical consumption, usually approved up to around 11 kW. The timeline from file submission to energisation is typically 4-12 weeks, with the final cost confirmed through the ATR (Technical Connection Approval).
Three-phase connection
A three-phase electrical connection (400V) is needed for high consumption or powerful equipment such as heat pumps, workshops, machine tools or EV charging stations. SUN WATT, an ANRE-attested firm, handles the entire process — from the paperwork and the Technical Connection Approval (ATR) through to energisation — typically within 4 to 12 weeks. Underground connection
An underground electrical connection brings power from the grid to your property through a cable buried in the ground, with no poles and no visible overhead cables. For a single-phase connection (230V), labour and material charges start from 3,500 lei, excluding the distribution operator's fees. The usual time from submitting the file to energisation is around 4-12 weeks, and the final connection price is set out in the Technical Connection Approval (ATR), the official document issued by the distribution operator that establishes the technical conditions and connection tariff.
Temporary site connection
A temporary site connection supplies your construction site with power throughout the building works, before the permanent connection is installed. It is obtained through a connection application and a Technical Connection Approval (ATR) from Retele Electrice Romania, and is carried out by an ANRE-certified company. Prices start from 2,200 lei (labour plus materials, excluding the operator's fees), with the whole process usually taking around 4-12 weeks.
Rural / out-of-town land electrical connection
If the grid is close to your plot, an overhead connection starts from 1,800 lei (labour plus materials, excluding operator fees). If the network is far away, a grid extension is needed and its tariff is set by the operator through the ATR. Exact quote within 24 hours.
Connection cabinet (BMPM/BMPT) installation & replacement
The connection cabinet, called "firida de bransament" in Romanian, is the metering and protection block at the boundary of your property: the BMPM for single-phase (230V) supplies and the BMPT for three-phase (400V) supplies. It houses the meter and the main protection, and it is sealed by the distribution operator, so it can only be installed or replaced by a certified firm working in coordination with Retele Electrice Romania S.A. SUN WATT, an ANRE-certified company, installs and replaces BMPM/BMPT cabinets across Bucharest, Ilfov and Giurgiu on the basis of a personalised quote, handling all seal and meter formalities with the operator. Warehouse & commercial connection
The electrical connection for a warehouse, depot, workshop or commercial space is almost always three-phase (400V) and sized for higher power than a home, depending on machinery, air conditioning and lighting. For high power, a dedicated transformer station may be required. Power increase
A power increase means raising the approved electrical power at your existing connection when your current installation can no longer cope with your consumption. It is carried out through an application to the operator Retele Electrice Romania (Distributie Energie Electrica Romania), followed by a new ATR (Technical Connection Approval), a contract and any required connection changes. In 2026, labour starts from 350 lei (excluding operator fees), with an indicative duration of 4 to 12 weeks.
Single to three-phase
Switching from a single-phase connection (230V) to three-phase (400V) involves submitting a power-increase/modification request to the operator Retele Electrice Romania (Distributie Energie Electrica Romania), obtaining a new ATR (Technical Connection Approval), and having the works carried out by an ANRE-certified firm. Grid connection
Electricity grid connection is the process of linking a plot, house or new premises to the electricity distribution network so you can have your own meter and power at the socket. The process involves six stages: the connection request, the Technical Connection Approval (ATR), the connection contract, the ANRE-certified service line works, the Utilization Installation Dossier (DIU) and meter installation. In Bucharest, Ilfov and Giurgiu the network operator is Retele Electrice Romania S.A. (Distributie Energie Electrica Romania). The service starts from 900 lei (labour, excluding operator fees) and typically takes 4 to 12 weeks.
Technical Connection Approval (ATR)
The Technical Connection Approval (ATR) is the document issued by the distribution operator (Retele Electrice Romania in the Bucharest–Ilfov–Giurgiu area) that sets the technical conditions and the connection tariff for joining the electricity grid. It is obtained through a connection application with supporting documents, and the operator issues it within 30 calendar days of the complete file being submitted, according to the timelines published by Retele Electrice Romania. DIU utilisation dossier
The Utilisation Installation Dossier (DIU) is the documentation of your indoor electrical installation, prepared by an ANRE-certified electrician. It is mandatory before the meter can be fitted and the supply energised. SUN WATT prepares DIU dossiers across the whole country, with indicative prices from 1,200 lei.
Prosumer / solar connection
Connecting a photovoltaic system to the grid as a prosumer means submitting a connection application to Retele Electrice Romania (Distributie Energie Electrica Romania). New-house electricity connection

EV charger connection
Connecting an EV charging station (wallbox) means securing the necessary electrical power at your premises: a typical 7.4 kW home charger runs on single-phase, while 11–22 kW requires three-phase, plus a dedicated circuit with the correct protection. Electrical reconnection
Electrical reconnection means restoring supply after a disconnection — for non-payment, on request, or because the connection was suspended or removed. If the physical connection still exists, reconnection is a matter of settling things with the supplier and the operator Retele Electrice Romania; if it was removed, a new connection file and works are needed. Electricity supply contract activation and reactivation
Activating or reactivating an electricity supply contract (with Electrica Furnizare, PPC Energie, E.ON, Engie, Hidroelectrica and others) is, as a general rule in 2026, a purely administrative and free procedure that you handle directly with the supplier, we do not do it on your behalf, but we guide you on the documents you need. It is not possible without technical work when the Utilisation Installation Dossier (DIU) is missing, the connection has been removed or disconnected, the installation is not compliant, a power increase is needed, or the connection certificate is missing. Electrical installations
SUN WATT carries out complete electrical installations for homes, blocks of flats, commercial spaces and warehouses as a company certified by ANRE (the Romanian energy regulator) for both design and execution. Earthing & grounding
An earthing (grounding) system channels dangerous currents safely into the ground and protects people from electric shock. Our service starts from 900 lei and includes PRAM resistance measurements with an official verification report.
Electrical risers
The electrical riser is the main cable carrying power from the block's main distribution board up to the meters and apartment boards on each landing. SUN WATT SRL, a company certified by ANRE (the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority) for both execution and design, replaces and refurbishes vertical (rising) and landing electrical risers in apartment blocks and stairwells, including the design, the works and the accompanying documentation. Each job is quoted individually, based on the number of apartments, the length of the riser and the condition of the existing installation; the quote is free of charge.
Networks & transformer stations (B2B)
Transformer stations
A transformer station steps the voltage down from the medium-voltage grid (20 kV) to low voltage (400/230 V). It is required when your power demand exceeds the capacity of a standard low-voltage connection (roughly above 100-150 kW).

SUN WATT provides complete electrical grid extension services for properties located far from the existing network. The service covers design, execution and the handling of all documentation with Retele Electrice Romania (Distributie Energie Electrica Romania).
