Earthing and Grounding Systems

An earthing (grounding) system channels dangerous currents safely into the ground and protects people from electric shock. Our service starts from 900 lei and includes PRAM resistance measurements with an official verification report.

From 900 lei · exact quote within 24h

An earthing system, also known as grounding, is the installation that conducts dangerous currents into the soil, protecting people from electric shock. SUN WATT, an ANRE-certified company (the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority), designs and installs correctly sized earthing systems for homes and businesses across Bucharest, Ilfov and Giurgiu. Every installation includes PRAM resistance testing and an official verification report. Prices start from 900 lei.

When you need it

You need a new earthing system in situations such as: a new build or a house without earthing; before a meter is installed; when fitting a modern consumer unit (electrical panel) with a residual current device; when installing a heat pump, an EV charging station or a photovoltaic system; if your existing sockets are not connected correctly; or if the installation is old and you feel a tingling sensation when touching appliances.

How it works — step by step

  1. On-site assessment and sizing. We inspect the soil type, the existing installation and your requirements, then determine the right solution: vertical electrodes, galvanised earthing strip or a combined approach.
  2. Installation of the earthing system. We carry out the excavation, drive in the electrodes (galvanised steel or copper) and fit the connecting strip with corrosion-resistant clamps.
  3. Connection to the installation and consumer unit. We connect the earthing system to the equipotential bonding bar and to the consumer unit (electrical panel), ensuring continuity of the protective earth (PE) conductor.
  4. PRAM testing and adjustment. We measure the dispersion resistance. If the value is out of range, we add further electrodes or treat the local soil to bring it within limits.
  5. Verification report and handover. We issue the PRAM verification report stating the measured value, a document required for the DIU (Utilization Installation Dossier) and for periodic inspections.

Required documents

  • Owner's identity document
  • Proof of ownership / land registry extract
  • Site plan or layout sketch (for new buildings)
  • Documentation of the existing electrical installation (for replacement or extension work)

Why bransam.ro

  • ANRE-certified company for both installation and design
  • PRAM verification report issued after testing, valid for the DIU (Utilization Installation Dossier), handover and periodic inspections
  • A solution correctly sized for your soil and actual electricity consumption
  • Durable materials (galvanised steel, copper, dedicated clamps)
  • Coordinated with the consumer unit and the grid connection
  • We handle the paperwork across Bucharest, Ilfov and Giurgiu

How long it takes

A standard earthing system for a home is usually installed, measured and verified within a single day, with the possibility of an additional day for difficult ground or larger projects.

FAQ — Earthing & grounding

How much does an earthing system cost?

From 900 lei. This is a guide price that includes labour and materials, excluding any fees charged by the grid operator.

What resistance value is required?

For a home, typically below 4 ohms; with a lightning protection system, below 1 ohm. The value is confirmed through PRAM testing.

What is PRAM testing?

It is a check carried out with a specialised instrument that measures the dispersion resistance in the soil. A verification report is issued, which is required for the DIU (Utilization Installation Dossier) and for periodic inspections.

Can I use an earthing system without a residual current device?

No. The earthing system and the residual current device (RCD) work together: the earthing conducts the current away, while the RCD detects the leakage and cuts the supply.

How often should it be checked?

We recommend periodic PRAM testing to confirm the parameters remain within limits. It is also worth checking before installing new equipment.

Do you install earthing systems for photovoltaic or EV charging stations?

Yes, with correct sizing and proper connection to the consumer unit, across Bucharest, Ilfov and Giurgiu.
