Electrical Connection for Warehouses and Commercial Premises

Commercial and industrial premises — warehouses, depots, workshops, showrooms, company offices — have power and safety requirements that differ from a home. The connection is usually three-phase (400V), sized for machinery, compressors, air conditioning, technical lighting and, increasingly, EV charging stations. When the required power exceeds what the local low-voltage grid can supply, the solution set out in the ATR may include a dedicated transformer station (a medium-voltage connection).

When you need it

You need a connection for a warehouse or commercial space when you build or rent premises with no supply of their own, when you fit out a depot, workshop, restaurant, shop or company office, or when consumption grows (new machinery, air conditioning, EV charging) and the current connection can no longer cope. This also applies when you move from a temporary construction supply to a permanent one for the finished commercial space. We establish the real power needed together, so you avoid both undersizing and unnecessary costs.

How it works — step by step

1. Establishing the Power and Technical Solution. We analyse the machinery, air conditioning, lighting and special loads (compressors, motors, EV stations) and calculate the required power. We determine whether the connection is made in low voltage or whether a dedicated transformer station (medium voltage) is needed.
2. Connection File and ATR. We prepare and submit the connection file to Retele Electrice Romania. The operator issues the ATR (Technical Connection Approval), which sets the solution, the approved power and the connection tariff for the commercial space.
3. Connection Design and Execution. As an ANRE-certified company, we design and build the three-phase connection and the main distribution board, sized for the premises' load, with protections and metering in line with the regulations. Where applicable, we coordinate the installation of the transformer station.
4. DIU, Meter and Energisation. We prepare the DIU (Utilisation Installation Dossier), after which the operator fits the meter (usually three-phase, with appropriate metering) and energises the premises. We can continue with the interior electrical installation of the warehouse or commercial space.

How long it takes

For a low-voltage connection, the timeline is approximately 4–12 weeks, similar to a three-phase connection. For transformer-station solutions (medium voltage), the design and execution are more extensive and the duration increases with complexity and the operator's timelines.
